Same-Day Lab & Imaging
Walk-In Testing & Diagnostics in Berkeley Heights, NJ
Sage Urgent Care offers same-day rapid testing and imaging — flu, COVID, RSV, strep, urinalysis, blood work, EKG, and on-site digital X-ray. Walk in 7 days, 8 AM to 8 PM. Most insurance accepted.
Same-day diagnostic answers, not "we'll call you with results in a few days." Sage Urgent Care has rapid pathogen testing, basic lab work, EKG, and on-site digital X-ray all under one roof. Most tests we run produce results during your visit, so you leave with a diagnosis and a treatment plan in hand.
Our diagnostic capabilities include rapid swabs for the major respiratory viruses (flu, COVID, RSV) and strep, urinalysis for UTI and other workups, basic metabolic panels, EKG for cardiac symptoms, and on-site digital X-ray for chest, abdomen, spine, and extremities. All read same visit by our emergency-medicine-trained physicians.

Why Sage for testing & diagnostics
Results during your visit
Rapid pathogen tests, urinalysis, EKG, and X-ray all read same visit. No callbacks, no waiting days for a separate lab.
Multi-pathogen panels
When symptoms could be flu, COVID, RSV, or strep, we can test for all of them from a single visit.
Lower cost than the ER
A chest X-ray plus a flu/COVID test plus a provider evaluation runs around $150–$200 self-pay. Same workup in an ER is typically $800+.
Emergency-medicine read
X-rays and EKGs read by our emergency-medicine-trained physicians during the visit, not faxed out to a remote reader.
No referral needed
You don't need an order from a PCP. Walk in, get tested, get treated.
Open 7 days
Diagnostic testing isn't just a Monday–Friday need. We're open every day, 8 AM to 8 PM.

Yes. Sage is fully walk-in, 7 days a week, 8 AM to 8 PM. No appointment, no referral.
A brief provider evaluation is part of every visit so we can interpret the test results correctly and choose the right test for your symptoms. Standalone testing without a clinical visit is generally not how urgent care works — but the provider visit is usually quick.
Yes — both rapid antigen and PCR testing for COVID-19. PCR results typically come back in 1–2 business days. See our COVID testing page.
Yes for non-emergency chest discomfort evaluation. For active severe chest pain, especially with sweating, nausea, shortness of breath, arm/jaw pain, or sense of doom — call 911 or go directly to the ER. Don't drive yourself.
For self-pay patients, X-ray is included in our standard $150–$200 visit fee. For insured patients, your specific copay/coinsurance applies — most major insurance covers urgent care X-ray.
With your permission, yes. We send visit summaries and test results to your primary care provider or specialist, typically within one business day, to maintain continuity of care.
